How it all Started...

For many years I was a runner. My runs usually consisted of 2-3 miles per day which was pretty good for a woman who was in her 30’s and 40’s. I would endure pain in my back not knowing the damage being done to my spine and with a disease luring in my medical background. The pain got so severe I couldn’t take it anymore so I went to the doctor who would put me on pain meds to help with the pain during my runs. I was an active Realtor working in a Development and doing well financially and dealing with the high demands of working with customers and selling Luxury Custom Homes. I lived on pain meds for a few years as I still felt my daily running was my key to dealing with stress as a single parent with 4 children as well as working full time. In 2006, I remarried and my current husband had a good health insurance policy that enabled me to go to a professional doctor who dealt with the spine. My first trip was to Spine Team Texas in which over time I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease. My first procedure was a Microdisectomy to take the pressure off the nerves in my spine at levels L3,4 and L4,5. Unfortunately, this procedure did not accomplish what Spine Team hoped it would so they referred me to Texas Back Institute in Plano. In the meantime I began having migraine headaches and was suffering major pain in my neck and shoulders. I found out one of my discs were deteriorated in C2,3 of my Cervical Spine.
